His Majesty Audience Ceremony

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday afternoon received in separate audiences His Excellency General Chalermphon Srisawasdi, the Chief of Defence Forces of the Royal Thai Armed Forces and His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashil bin Rashid Al-Maskari, outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam. The Chief of Defence Forces of the Royal Thai Armed Forces is in the country for a three-day official visit. 

Accompanying His Excellency was Her Excellency Boosara Kanchanalai, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand Designate to Brunei Darussalam; General Nothapol Boonngam, the Chief of Joint Staff; Lieutenant General Natee Wongissares, the Director of Joint Intelligence of the Royal Thai Armed Forces and Lieutenant Colonel Santhichai Chompoochan, the Chief Interpreter. Also present was Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF. The Audience Ceremonies took place at Istana Nurul Iman. 

His Majesty first received in audience His Excellency General Chalermphon Srisawasdi. Brunei Darussalam and the Kingdom of Thailand have enjoyed a close and longstanding relationship since 1984, whereby defence cooperation has been strengthened with engagements in the form of exchange visits, defence and military meetings, exercises, trainings, professional exchanges as well as courses. 

His Majesty then received in audience His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashil bin Rashid Al-Maskari, outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam. His Excellency presented his Letter of Credence to His Majesty on 25th February 2014.
