10th ITQSHHB'S Hafl Al-Takharruj

His Royal Highness Prince Doctor Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office in a sabda stressed on the need to broaden and develop efforts to teach Al-Quran memorisation techniques based on the requests and profile of the society at all levels. His Royal Highness made the sabda at the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz Al-Quran Institute's 10th Haflut Takharruj, yesterday morning. The ceremony took place at the International Convention Centre in Berakas. Accompanying His Royal Highness the Crown Prince was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah. 

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs and Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti; as well as members of the ceremony's Executive Committee. 

The ceremony commenced with the reading of Surah A'BASA verses 17 to 42 by Ahmad Ridhwan Azzawani bin Haji Zainul Arifin. 

In his welcoming speech, the Minister of Religious Affairs among others shared that during the 13 years since the 'Aliyah Qira'at Diploma study programme was introduced, the country has produced 193 graduates. 

In the sabda, His Royal Highness took note that from the number of students entering the Tahfiz Institute every year, only a small group has been able to attain Diplomas and eventually gaining success. 

His Royal Highness in the sabda said nowadays more people are interested in learning Al-Quran memorisation techniques, thus the efforts to teach it need to be broadened and developed based on the requests and profile of the society at all levels. 

Al-Quran as the main guide to achieve success and happiness was among the matters touched upon in a special religious talk titled "Keagungan Peranan Al- Quran" or the Greatness of the Role of Al-Quran, delivered by Pengiran Ahmad Faris Ramadhani bin Pengiran Haji Sellahuddin. 

His Royal Highness then presented the Aaliyah Qiraat Diploma to 19 graduates. Of the total, 12 received the Mumtaz or Excellent Grades, 5 received Jayyid Jiddan or Very Good grades, and 2 others received Jayyid or Good grades. 

Doa selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar. 

The Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz Al-Quran Institute has contributed to the country with its participation in Al-Quran Memorisation Musabaqah, at the regional and international levels.
