His Majesty Audience Ceremony

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, received in audience His Excellency Lawrence Wong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance of the Republic of Singapore and His Excellency Doctor Sujatmiko, outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipoteniary of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam. 

His Excellency Lawrence Wong and delegation are in the country for a two day Official Visit. Meanwhile, His Excellency Doctor Sujatmiko will be ending his tenure. The audience ceremonies took place this afternoon at the Istana Nurul Iman. 

His Majesty first received an audience from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance of the Republic of Singapore. Accompanying His Excellency, His Excellency Doctor Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore and His Excellency Heng Aik Yeow, High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam. Also present were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minsiter's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Dato Seri Paduka Awang Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office. 

During the audience ceremony, His Majesty and His Excellency among other things, discussed on the strong bilateral relations between both countries particularly on defence and the Currency Interchangeability Agreement; placement of Bruneian civil servants in Singapore under the Memorandum of Understanding, MoU on Public Service Capacity Development signed during His Majesty's State Visit to the Republic of Singapore on 24 August 2022; as well as the hosting of the 9th Young Leaders' Programme, YLP by Brunei Darussalam.  His Majesty also expressed deep appreciation for the close relations with Singapore, leading to assistance from Singapore during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

His Majesty then received in audience His Excellency Doctor Sujatmiko.  His Excellency presented Letter of Credence to His Majesty on 7th July 2018.
