His Majesty Departs From Istanbul

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam left Istanbul after concluding a State Visit to the Republic of Türkiye. 

Prior to departure, Doa Selamat was recited by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar. 

Present at Grand Airport VVIP State Guest House Istanbul to bid farewell to His Majesty was His Excellency Mustafa Varank, Minister of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye. 

Also present was His Excellency Mohammad Shafiee bin Haji Kassim, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Türkiye. 

During the State Visit, His Majesty in his titah, among other things stated that, His Majesty and the people of Brunei Darussalam expressed their condolences to the people of the Republic of Türkiye following the recent earthquakes and Brunei Darussalam's readiness to provide assistance. His Majesty was pleased with the progress of bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Türkiye and welcomed collaboration in new areas as well as to pursue investment opportunities. Through this, the relationship between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Türkiye is in a good position to continue to grow even stronger. 

His Majesty also attended the Four-Eye and Bilateral Meetings with His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Türkiye, in which both leaders discussed on matters of mutual interest towards further strengthening bilateral cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Türkiye, including in the fields of trade and investment, education, culture, and defence. 

In addition, His Majesty attended the Wreath-Laying Ceremony at Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk; the Welcoming Ceremony at the Presidential Palace; as well as visited Turkish Aerospace Industries in Ankara. Meanwhile in Istanbul, His Majesty visited several historical sites such as Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque, Topkapı Palace Museum and Dolmabahçe Palace as well as cruised the Bosphorus Strait. 

The Government of His Majesty has also signed five new agreements with the Government of the Republic of Türkiye on matters related to archive, education, defence, culture as well as bilateral consultations.
