A sum totalling $102,350 donated by Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah has been distributed to several families whose house collapsed and fell victim to house fires, as well as 75 mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide. The donation presentation ceremony was held on 10th March afternoon, at the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex in the capital.
From the figure, $81,400 of donation for mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide wil be used for events and takmir activities throughout Ramadhan. It was presented by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence as Chairman of the Yayasan Board of Directors to imam and mosque officers.
Earlier, a sum amounting $20,950 was handed over to 6 families whose house collapsed and fell victim to house fires in several villages in the country. It was presented by Awang Ahmad Jefri bin Abdul Rahman, Assistant Managing Director of Brunei Investment Agency as member of the Yayasan Board of Directors. Also present, Doctor Dayang Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak, Permanent Secretary for Planning, Landuse and Environment at the Ministry of Development as Acting Managing Director of Yayasan.
