YANG MULIA DATO PADUKA AWANG HAJI MOHD ZALANI BIN HAJI ISMAIL
PERMANENT SECRETARY AT THE PRIME MINISTER’S OFFICE

Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Zalani was appointed as the Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office on 1 July 2026.

Before his appointment as Permanent Secretary at Prime Minister’s Office, he began his career as Staff Officer in the Internal Security Department starting 1st August 1993. Whilst in Internal Security Department, he was promoted and held several positions including Senior Research Officer and Assistant Director in 2006. He was subsequently promoted as Deputy Director of Internal Security Department in 2009. On 25th July 2020, he was appointed as Director of Narcotics Control Bureau.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Public Policy & Administration from Universiti Brunei Darussalam, obtained in 1992. In 1998, he earned a Master of Criminology from Bond University, Australia.
