
In the afternoon, His Royal Highness proceeded to Kampong Glam to visit the historic Sultan Mosque and the adjacent Malay Heritage Centre. Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was welcomed by His Excellency Zaqy Mohamad, Singapore’s Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs and Senior Minister of State for Defence.
The cultural itinerary began with a guided tour and briefing on the rich history of the Sultan Mosque, an iconic monument celebrating its historic bicentennial milestone tracking back to its 1819 founding. The tour also highlighted the architectural significance of the current mosque building, which is approaching its centenary.
