His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, yesterday concluded his visit to Singapore for the 12th Singapore-Brunei Young Leaders’ Programme (YLP). Prior to departure, His Royal Highness visited the Punggol Digital District (PDD) and the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).
The day’s programme began at the PDD, where His Royal Highness attended a breakfast hosted by Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore Gan Kim Yong. During the visit, His Royal Highness was briefed on the PDD and the SIT. The briefing highlighted the PDD as Singapore’s first smart and sustainable business district developed through a partnership model; it is designed to comprehensively integrate the industrial, enterprise, and academic sectors, with SIT serving as a strategic partner in industry-academia collaboration, talent development, and innovation through shared facilities and various research initiatives.
Prior to the presentation, His Royal Highness and Gan Kim Yong toured the PDD, viewing the shared infrastructure, digital integration framework, and innovative educational ecosystem that define the smart district. Before departing, His Royal Highness had the opportunity to interact with robots designed by students and took a ride in an autonomous vehicle alongside Gan Kim Yong. The visit underscored the ongoing exchange of knowledge between the future-generation leaders of both nations, particularly in the fields of digital transformation, technological innovation, and sustainable urban design.
