His Majesty the Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to receive in audience the Chairman of the Council of Universiti Islam Malaysia. The audience took place at the Cheradi Ratna Kenchana, Istana Nurul Iman.

His Majesty the Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam joined citizens and residents of Brunei at a ceremony to commemorate Isra' Mikraj yesterday at the International Convention Centre to honour and remember the journey undertaken by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces has consented to visit the Brunei Garrison in Seria for the farewell ceremony for members of the 2nd Battalion, the Royal Gurkha Rifles as they complete their 4-year rotation in Brunei Darussalam.
His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was greeted on arrival at the Helipad of the Brunei Garrison Support Company by the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Major General Dato Paduka Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin and the Commanding Officer of the 2nd Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles, Lieutenant Colonel Marcus Reedman.
His Majesty then consented to proceed to Tuker Lines, where His Majesty received the Royal Salute. Among those present was the British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, His Excellency Rob Fenn. His Majesty also consented to inspect the Guard of Honour mounted by 18 personnel of the Royal Gurkha Rifles, including members of the Serunai and Tambur Platoon led by Captain Gajendra Angdembe. Brunei Darussalam and the United Kingdom enjoy very close defence relations, which are further strengthened with exchange visit programmes involving senior military officers of both countries.
