Dayang Hajah Farida binti Dato Seri Paduka Haji Talib graduated with Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Modelling from the Sheffield Hallam University, United Kingdom, and began her career in Brunei Shell Petroleum Sendirian Berhad (BSP) in 1992.

 

Dayang Hajah Farida has over 30 years of diverse Energy Industry experience, across Upstream and Gas with specialization in Commercial, Business Transformation, Energy Transition and Digitalisation, including 4-year posting in Royal Dutch Shell as Senior Gas Integration Advisor.

 

In 2016, she became BSP’s Commercial and Corporate Director, and later appointed as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad in 2020.

 

By command of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, she was appointed as the Permanent Secretary (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office on 24 October 2023.​
