Royalty conclude official visit to Australia

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman left Australia after concluding a four-day official visit since August 12, 2026 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence of Australia Richard Marles MP.

Accompanying His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness were Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim; Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah; Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda Muhammad Aiman; and Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Faathimah Az-Zahraa’ Raihaanul Bolkiah.

Prior to leaving Sydney, Doa Selamat was recited by Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Awang Hamidon bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Abdul Hamid.

Present at Sydney Airport to bid farewell to His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness were Strategic Advisor for Defence and Security Major General (Retired) Andrew Freeman and Australian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Michael Hoy. Also present was High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Australia Dayangku Nooraslena binti Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Sallehuddin.

His Majesty received in audience outgoing Ambassador of Myanmar

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, on Saturday afternoon received in audience outgoing Ambassador of Myanmar to Brunei Darussalam U Sein Oo.

The outgoing ambassador presented his Letter of Credence to His Majesty on October 18, 2025.

The audience ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman.

His Royal Highness visited the Western Sydney University Agritech Precinct

His Royal Highness visited the Western Sydney University Agritech Precinct at the Hawkesbury Campus for an agricultural technology (agritech) demonstration.

His Royal Highness was welcomed by Western Sydney University Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Anderson and Director of the Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment Professor Mark Tjoelker.

His Royal Highness visited the Smart Glasshouse and was briefed by Professor Mark Tjoelker on the facility’s role in ensuring food security through the use of cutting-edge technology (agritech) and in fostering regional collaboration opportunities; as well as viewed demonstrations of agritech applications, including robotics.

During the visit, His Royal Highness interacted with two Western Sydney University students.

Nightly Dikir begins for Maulidur Rasul

To further promote the teachings and values of Islam and instil a deep love for Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), the opening ceremony of the Dikir in conjunction with Maulidur Rasul for 1448 Hijrah/2026 was held last night at Istana Nurul Iman corresponding to 1st of Rabiulawal 1448 Hijrah.

Present at the event were Coordinating Minister for National Security, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof; Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (Civil Service Governance) Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Awang Haji Mohamad; and Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (Security and Law) Dato Seri Setia Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu.

Among the male guests were representatives from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), as well as representatives from associations and MPM/MPK, including 30 members of Badan Ugama Islam (PPDB) and 30 members of MPM Pengkalan Batu.

Members of the Senegara Mosque Youth Executive Committee were also invited under the Youth and Takmir category, while the JPI Religious School Division (Brunei I) represented the Religious Teachers category.

For the female guests, representatives from the PMO were also in attendance, alongside representatives from associations and MPM/MPK. These included 30 members of the Police Wives and Families Welfare Association (PEKERTI) and 30 members of MPM/MPK Pengkalan Batu.

The Youth and Takmir category comprised members of the Muslimah group of RPN Kampong Bukit Beruang Mosque, while the Religious Teachers category was represented by the JPI Religious School Division (Brunei I).

The event began with a mass Isyak prayer led by Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Abdul Ghani, with Muhammad Amin bin Haji Salim as the bilal.

This was followed by an Al-Quran recitation by Ashizal bin Zainal Abidin.

A tazkirah was subsequently delivered by Haji Muskrisman Safari bin Haji Mustapa followed by a doa led by Haji Muhammad Azrol Alim bin Haji Zaini.

The evening also featured dikir recitations including Assalamualaika and Asyrakal, Khairuman, Bisyahrin, Al-Hamdu and Badat, which further enhanced the atmosphere of reflection and devotion to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
