His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu‘izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office today visited the Singapore Oceanarium as part of the executive itinerary of the 12th Singapore-Brunei Young Leaders Programme (YLP).

Upon arrival at the Singapore Oceanarium, His Royal Highness was welcomed by His Excellency Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore.

The visit commenced with a guided walking tour, during which His Royal Highness was briefed on the diverse marine life across selected galleries. Following the tour, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong hosted a dinner in honour of the Crown Prince’s visit. The dinner was held in the Ocean Gallery.

The engagement highlights the strong bilateral partnership and enduring close ties between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Singapore.

His Royal Highness then visited the Malay Heritage Centre to view its cultural exhibits.

During the tours, His Royal Highness was briefed on Singapore’s dedicated efforts to preserve and promote Malay-Muslim heritage, arts, and culture, highlighting the deep socio-cultural ties and shared roots that connect the communities of both Brunei Darussalam and
Singapore.

In the afternoon, His Royal Highness proceeded to Kampong Glam to visit the historic Sultan Mosque and the adjacent Malay Heritage Centre. Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was welcomed by His Excellency Zaqy Mohamad, Singapore’s Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs and Senior Minister of State for Defence.

The cultural itinerary began with a guided tour and briefing on the rich history of the Sultan Mosque, an iconic monument celebrating its historic bicentennial milestone tracking back to its 1819 founding. The tour also highlighted the architectural significance of the current mosque building, which is approaching its centenary.

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu‘izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, today continued his official programme under the 12th Singapore-Brunei Young Leaders’ Programme (YLP) in Singapore.

His Royal Highness began the day’s programme by visiting the SingHealth Duke-NUS Institute of Biodiversity Medicine (BD-MED) to observe advancements in translational medical research.

His Royal Highness was welcomed upon arrival at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) by His Excellency Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health of the Republic of Singapore.

During the visit, His Royal Highness attended a briefing and presentation on the institute’s ongoing scientific collaboration with Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD). Housed at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS), the SingHealth Duke-NUS Institute of Biodiversity Medicine (BD-MED) is a joint research facility that studies regional plant life to discover new medical treatments. Through a joint genomics laboratory with UBD, the institute successfully mapped the genome of Brunei Darussalam’s national flower, the Simpur, to unlock its potential anti-cancer and healing properties.

Following the presentation, His Royal Highness toured the research laboratories and observed live scientific demonstrations showcasing modern medical technology. At the lab, His Royal Highness also interacted with a fourth-year Pharmacy student from UBD who is undergoing her Discovery Year at BD-MED.

Concluding the afternoon’s programme at Temasek Holdings, His Royal Highness proceeded to the Temasek Shophouse and was greeted upon arrival by Madam Ho Ching, Chairman of Temasek Trust. Led by the Chief Executive Officer of Temasek Trust, the guided tour highlighted the venue’s heritage preservation, sustainable design, and community-driven social impact features.

Temasek Shophouse is a social impact hub owned by Temasek Trust, the philanthropic arm of Temasek Holdings. The building blends historic local heritage with modern spaces for community, social, and environmental projects. Following major renovations, the hub reopened in September 2025. It later added a new outdoor green space in March 2026 showcasing eco-friendly features like solar panels and rainwater collection.

In the afternoon, His Royal Highness proceeded to the Temasek Holdings corporate office, where he was welcomed upon arrival by Mr. Teo Chee Hean, Chairman of Temasek Holdings.

During the visit, His Royal Highness held a four-eye meeting with Chairman Teo Chee Hean to exchange views on matters of mutual interest. Following the discussions, His Royal Highness met with members of Temasek Holdings and was presented with a briefing that focused on the organization’s institutional initiatives, strategic programs as well as sustainability commitments.
