His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam watched the Charity Polo Tournament and presented prizes, 23rd June afternoon.
Also in attendance were His Majesty's son, daughters, brother and grandson:
His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Anisha Rosnah;
His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah;
Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah;
Her Royal Highness Princess 'Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah and
Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda 'Abdul Muntaqim.
Held at the Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club, Jerudong, the tournament was organised by the Brunei Polo Team in collaboration with the Royal Brunei Polo Association and Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Sanggamara Di-Raja Retired Major General Pengiran Haji Ibnu Basith bin Pengiran Datu Penghulu Pengiran Haji Apong.
In the first match, LIONS team led by His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen defeated TIGERS team by 4-nil in 2 chukkas. Also in the LIONS team was Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah.
The second match saw BEARS team participated by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah defeating TIGERS team by 2-1 in 2 chukkas.
In another match, LIONS team recorded a 3-1 win in 2 chukkas over BEARS team.
His Majesty then presented the prizes. LIONS team was crowned as champion, while BEARS team and TIGERS team came in second and third respectively. His Majesty also presented souvenirs to the match referees.
