Ilal Hijrah 1446 Celebration

Brunei Darussalam celebrated the Ilal Hijrah 1446 with full of gratitude and piety at all mosques, surau and religious halls nationwide, 6th July late afternoon. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam attended the Ilal Hijrah celebration which took place at Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Kampung Kiarong. 


Accompanying His Majesty were His Majesty's sons, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik; and His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen. Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by;

 

- Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara;

- Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs as Chairman of the celebration's executive committee, and other committee members.

 

The ceremony began with the TWO times reading of the End of Hijrah Year Doa or supplication, led by the Minister of Religious Affairs.

 

21 cannon shots marked the arrival of the Hijrah New Year 1446.

 

The mass Fardu Maghrib prayer was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar who also led the two times reading of the Hijrah New Year 1446 Doa.

 

The mass sunat hajat prayer was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim. Doa Selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim.

 

The Ilal Hijrah 1446 was jointly organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Defence, and the Ministry of Health.
