His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam received in audience Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin, Minister of Defence of Malaysia. The Audience Ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman. Accompanying the Minister of Defence, Malaysia were Mrs Nur Ezira Mahadi, Charge d'Affaires, High Commission of Malaysia in Brunei Darussalam and senior officials from the Ministry of Defence, Malaysia. The Ministry of Defence of Malaysia and delegation is in the country for a 2-day Official Visit. Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia have established close and friendly bilateral relations, marking a significant milestone with 40 years of diplomatic relations this year in which defence cooperation was established through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding.
His Majesty received in audience Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin. Both countries have been engaged in various bilateral cooperation including the Joint Defence Working Committee Meeting, joint military exercises, course programs, and actively participates in multilateral cooperation such as the ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting, ADMM, underscoring both countries' commitment to regional security cooperation.
