His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, received in audience His Excellency Natsuo Yamaguchi, Member of the House of Councilors, National Diet of Japan and Chief Representative, Komeito Party, Japan and delegation. The Audience Ceremony took place at Qashr Al-Meezaan, 10th July morning.
Present were Her Excellency Toshiko Takeya, Member of the House of Councillors, National Diet of Japan and Chair of the Women's Committee of the Komeito; His Excellency Yasuhiro Nakagawa, Member of the House of Councillors National Diet of Japan and Vice Director of the Local Assembly Bureau of the Komeito; and His Excellency Maeda Toru, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Brunei Darussalam. Also present was Dr. Dayang Hajah Huraini binti Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hurairah, Clerk to the Privy Council, Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers' Council, and Clerk to the Legislative Council. The delegation is on a working visit to Brunei Darussalam until 11th of July 2024. During the meeting, His Royal Highness reaffirmed the special relationship between Brunei Darussalam and Japan and recognised the significance of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year. His Royal Highness and His Excellency Natsuo Yamaguchi welcomed efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in people to people exchanges, energy and current issues such as climate change.
