The capital, Bandar Seri Begawan was the focus of citizens and residents of Brunei Muara District in welcoming the presence of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al- Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di- Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at the Get-Together Ceremony with the Citizens and Residents in Brunei Muara District. The ceremony was in conjunction with His Majesty's 78th Birthday Celebration. Themed 'Raja untuk Rakyat dan Rakyat untuk Raja', Brunei Muara District was the second last district to welcome His Majesty to such a ceremony this year which will certainly remain as an oral tradition. The ceremony took place at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar 'Ali Saifuddien.
Hundreds of students waved miniature flags welcoming His Majesty the Sultan and Yang di- Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs as well as the Co-Chairs of the celebration's National Committee.
Also in attendance were His Majesty's sons and brothers: His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al- Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen; His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefr Bolkiah.
Some 400 participants were involved in the special performance which had a traditional pop format. ''Raja Khalifah Teraju Negara'', was the climax of the special performance.
