His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam presented the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Sultan's Scholar for 2024/2025 academic session to 5 excellent students. The ceremony took place this afternoon at Istana Nurul Iman.
Also in attendance were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, and His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik, Chairman of the Yayasan Committee of Governors.
The reading of Surah Al-Fatihah was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti. His Majesty presented the award to 5 students who will further their studies to Bachelor's degree. The first recipient, Dayang Nur Hidayah Haziyah binti Handrie from Jerudong International School will further her studies in Environmental Geoscience at the University College London, United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, Awang Muhammad Asfa Radhi bin Mohammad Yusran from the Tutong Sixth Form Centre will take up Chemical Engineering at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.
The third recipient, Awang Muhammad Nafeez bin Haji Arbaie from Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College will further his studies at University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia in Data Science and Decisions.
Another student from Jerudong International School, Awang Muhammad Afiq bin Abdul Rahman will take Mathematics at University College London, United Kingdom.
The final recipient, Awangku Mohammad Idris Fadhlee bin Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim from Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic Boys Secondary School will further his studies in Syariah Islamiyyah at Al-Azhar University, Arab Republic of Egypt.
Doa Selamat was read by the State Mufti. 68 students have received this prestigious scholarship since 2006.
Also present were the Yayasan Committee of Governors; Yayasan Board of Directors; and the Yayasan Sultan's Scholar Scholarship Steering Committee.
