The Prime Minister’s Office And Its Departments Held A Special Religious Lecture In Conjunction With The Maulidur Rasul Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wassallam For The Year 1446H /2024M

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and its Departments this afternoon held a Special  Religious Lecture to commemorate Maulidur Rasul, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad  Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wassallam which took place at the Banquet Hall of the Prime Minister’s Office  Building. Present as the Guest of Honour the event was Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu, Acting Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office. 

Also, in attendance were the Deputy Minister, Permanent Secretaries, Acting Permanent Secretary, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary, Special Invitees, Heads of Departments and Divisions, officers and staff of the Prime Minister’s Office and its Departments.

The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Yang Mulia Awang Haji Mohammed Izzat Izzuddin bin Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Emran, Mosque Affairs Officer, Ash-Shaliheen Mosque. This was followed with the reading of the holy verses of the Al-Quran by Yang Mulia Awang Zainal Mustapa bin Jaluddin, a Higher Diploma student of ‘Aliyah Qiraat from the Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. 

The event continued with a special religious lecture titled “Memelihara Akal Berpandukan Sunnah Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wassallam” by the guest lecturer, Yang Mulia Awang Muhammad Syahirul Syafiq bin Rashid, Assistant Religious Officer from Islamic Da’wah Centre. 

The lecture amongst other things, touched on the importance of Maqasid Syariah which emphasises on the preservation of intellect in accordance with the Sunnah of Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wassalam, and therefore is a valuable gift from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala that must be maintained by instilling noble values and knowledge as commanded by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. The event proceeded with the Dikir Syarafil Anam led by the Male Dikir Team of the Royal Brunei Police Force. 

Organised by the Department of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office in collaboration with Department of Civil Service and Brunei Research Department, the event is part of the Prime Minister’s Office’s annual activities to enliven and celebrate the significance of Maulidur Rasul Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wassallam as well as to seek syafaat from the Prophet Nabi Muhammad Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasalam.
