Businesses in Brunei Darussalam are starting to take advantage of opportunities that were previously considered unattainable. For example, companies that use waste as an important resource, such as processing organic waste into fertilizer. The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy emphasised the matter at the Sustainable Future Forum organised by Baiduri Bank and Brunei Fertilizer Industries. In a keynote speech that was read by Pengiran Hajah Siti Nirmala binti Pengiran Haji Mohammad, Permanent Secretary for Vision at the Prime Minister's Office, in recent years, the country have seen a growing recognition of the importance of sustainability within the business community. The forum took place on 26th September morning, at a hotel in Gadong.
According to the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy, the workshop on environment, social and governance Awareness for MSMEs represents an important step forward towards a sustainable future. By aligning business success with sustainability, it becomes a vehicle for the future with economic growth and environmental care going hand in hand.
The Forum titled "Navigating Energy Transition", shared the energy transformation that requires significant transformation with the mix of innovation and it take a whole of nation approach to navigate the energy transformation effectively.
