His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam attended separate Bilateral Meetings with Her Excellency Paetongtam Shinawatra, Prime Minister of Thailand; and with His Excellency Phạm Minh Chính, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, 9th October afternoon. Accompanying His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen.

During a Bilateral Meeting with Her Excellency the Prime Minister of Thailand at National Convention Centre (NCC), His Majesty highlighted in his titah that Brunei Darussalam and Thailand continued to expand cooperation in trade, education, defence and people-to-people exchanges for the past four decades. To this end, His Majesty recalled the fruitful Official Visit to Thailand in April 2024, particularly on the mutual commitment to expand tourism, investment and halal cooperation. Furthermore, the recent visit by the Thai Government Pension Fund to Brunei Darussalam would open more opportunities for both countries to deepen economic linkages particularly in food security.

In addition, His Majesty appreciated Thailand's continued support in the supply of rice since 1971. Both sides are exploring a memorandum of understanding on Halal Cooperation, to which His Majesty looked forward to its finalisation. Meanwhile, people-to-people exchanges are also progressing well, including active education and defence exchanges. Alongside this, His Majesty appreciated the contributions of Thai nationals to the socio-economic development of Brunei Darussalam and continued to welcome them.
