His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam graced the Gurkha Reserve Unit, GRU Golden Jubilee Celebration at the Sungai Akar Camp Parade Ground. Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence.
Shortly after arriving, His Majesty received the Royal Salute, and then inspected the Guard of Honour. Doa Selamat was read by Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Mujib bin Haji Japar, Acting Director of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Religious Department, JAMA'AT.
His Majesty then proceeded to witness various arena performances.
From the parade ground, His Majesty proceeded to Gurkha Gallery. His Majesty officiated the gallery's opening and signed the inauguration plaque.
His Majesty then went to the PSG Officer's Mess for a Luncheon. The Monarch received a Pesambah in the form of a khukri, a national weapon of Nepal. The historic GRU Golden Jubilee was celebrated in a lively atmosphere.
