
His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah stating that Brunei Darussalam and the Kyrgyz Republic have maintained warm and friendly relations since establishing diplomatic ties in 1996. His Majesty made the titah while attending a Meeting with His Excellency Sadyr Zhaparov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic that took place at the JW Marriot Hotel in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China. In addition, His Majesty expresses pleasure that both sides are also working closely in international forums such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the United Nations. Accompanying His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen.
On bilateral relations, His Majesty expresses belief that there is potential for both countries to deepen ties. Thus, it is good that officials of both countries are looking into visa waiver arrangements, which will encourage more visits between Brunei Darussalam and the Kyrgyz Republic. Finally, His Majesty expresses support on the Kyrgyz Republic's candidacies at the United Nations including the United Nations Security Council as well as extended an invitation for His Excellency to visit Brunei Darussalam.
