His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to bestow his personal gifts to 17,352 recipients nationwide comprising of those with Special Needs, Orphans, the Poor and Recipients of Monthly Welfare Assistance in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebration this year. The distribution of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's personal gifts is the 16th time it has been organised, aimed at alleviating the burden of certain groups in the country. The ceremony began with the Distribution of the Personal Gifts by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's sons and daughters, as personal representatives of His Majesty, followed by distribution at several designated distribution centres in the four districts.
Gracing the presentation ceremony of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Personal Gifts for Brunei Muara District at the Reception Hall, Istana Nurul Iman as His Majesty's personal representative was His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office. Meanwhile at the Baitur Rahmah, Istana Nurul Iman, His Majesty's personal representative to grace the ceremony was Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah binti His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah.
The arrival of the His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah at the Reception Hall, Istana Nurul Iman was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence.
The ceremony began with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.
At the ceremony, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince consented to present the Personal Gift of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to one thousand recipients from Brunei Muara District.
