His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah says the close relationship between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Kosovo creates an opportunity for deeper engagements at all levels, further strengthening their long-standing ties.
His Majesty made the titah at the State Banquet in conjunction with the State Visit of Her Excellency Doctor Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, President of the Republic of Kosovo and Mr. Prindon Sadriu, First Gentleman, as well as delegation who are in Brunei Darussalam for a three-day State Visit. This is Her Excellency's inaugural visit to the country.
Prior to this, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman proceeded together with Her Excellency the President of the Republic of Kosovo and First Gentleman from Istana Edinburgh to Istana Nurul Iman.
En route to Istana Nurul Iman, the President of the Republic of Kosovo and First Gentleman were greeted with the waving of both countries' national flags.
The State Welcoming Ceremony was held at the grounds of Istana Nurul Iman. His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri, together with Her Excellency and First Gentleman proceeded to the Special Dais to receive the Salute of Honour, accompanied by the national anthems of both countries and a twenty-one gun salute.
The two leaders then inspected the Guard of Honour mounted by members of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. Her Excellency and First Gentleman were then introduced to members of the Royal Family; Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-pengiran Cheteria; Special Advisor to His Majesty; the Speaker of the Legislative Council; Cabinet Ministers; Members of the Privy Council; Deputy Ministers; Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces; the Acting Commissioner of Police of the Royal Brunei Police Force; Foreign Envoys; Members of the Legislative Council; and Permanent Secretaries from the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; with their respective spouses.
His Majesty was then introduced to the official delegation of the Republic of Kosovo, including the Chief of Staff, Office of the President of the Republic of Kosovo; and advisers from Office of the President of the Republic of Kosovo.
Following the State Welcoming Ceremony, His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri received in audience Her Excellency and First Gentleman at Cheradi Laila Kenchana. Present at the Audience Ceremony were members of the Royal Family. Also present were the delegation of the Republic of Kosovo; and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism, as the Minister-in-Attendance; and spouse.
The Audience Ceremony was followed by the Conferment of the 'Order of Independence' which was presented to His Majesty by the President of the Republic of Kosovo.
His Majesty then consented to confer a state decoration, Darjah Kerabat Laila Utama Yang Amat Dihormati (D.K.) on Her Excellency the President of the Republic of Kosovo, which carried the title of 'Datin Laila Utama.'
