His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam first attended the Pre-Parade Reception, held at the National Gallery Singapore. Among the special guests present were His Excellency Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia; His Royal Highness Tunku Ismail ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Regent of Johor, and Her Highness Che Puan Mahkota Khaleeda binti Bustamam; as well as Yang Amat Berhormat Dato' Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Malaysia, as representative of Yang Amat Berhormat the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The parade was also enlivened with the State Flag Fly-past, performances by local artistes, as well as fireworks display.

This year's National Day celebrations of the Republic of Singapore carries the theme “Majulah Singapura", which reflects the spirit and aspirations of the Republic of Singapore in commemorating six decades of independence, as well as calls on its people to appreciate their collective achievements; face future challenges with confidence and resilience; and uphold the values of trust, inclusivity, and mutual support for the continued progress of the country.
